<description>The news article that was presented here just praised the Senate for passing S-1963. It is now in the hands of the House Veterans Affairs Committee and has not been brought before the full House for a vote.

When it is completed, the Legion will be able to provide more information on what help, if any, that you might receive from this Caregiver Bill. I know that it was intended to help those veterans who&#039;s wives have given up their jobs to stay home and care for the veteran.

Of course, the wording is about our veterans fighting our current war, so will you and your wife be on the receiving end, I don&#039;t know, but, lets hope. Watch for more information as information becomes available.

Thank you for your posting.

<description>I am 100% service connected (schedular, retired) Marine injured in Korean War. I see nothing in your synopsis of this new bill that would help me and my wife out. Do we or do we not qualify for monetary benefits in addition to compensation to help pay for the added cost of caring for me at home. I am a left a/k amputee with no use of my right leg and my right arm. My right shoulder is permanently separated and my my right wrist is fused. My left arm is increasingly rendered unuseable my arthritis and over use as it is the only limb I have that has worked for many years. My compensation has never been fair as testifed to by the Shalala commission a couple of years ago.
